Bear with me...this is my first and only blog site that I have written. Basically, I plan to use it to update on my workout goals and things of that nature. Mostly, I need something to force me to be accountable for not working out.
So here it goes: today is my first day back from like 4 months of on and off traveling. I am not planning on taking any more trips for awhile if I can help it. I think that's why I am motivated to start making myself workout again and eat healthier. I just got back from Florida with the Brandeis softball team and I got up early every day and went to bed at a decent time. I found that I had a lot more energy than when I am staying up later and sleeping later. So I am going to incorporate that into my new lifestyle as well. Also, I ate yogurt, fruit, granola every morning while I was down there even though I sometimes had a piece of sausage or a small bite sized muffin I feel that it was a good start to the day. I think I will do well with eating healthier for breakfast, but I know that lunch and dinner will be a different story. I will figure out a way to make sure that I keep up with both healthier versions for meals and snacks. Probably with an iphone app that allows me to track my meals and calories. A bonus goal is healthier drinks in my life. I drink a lot of juice so I'll be nixing that as well. I will still allow myself to have a few alcoholic beverages but it will be different mixtures that are less calories.
Hopefully, I won't fall off the train with this. I ordered a work out dvd and I love love love my Nike workout app on my iphone. I am also going to do a few videos that I found off of YouTube. I don't necessarily want to go to the gym so I am going to try to do this sans gym and just do it at home. I know that people always say 'Oh I am going to start next week or on a Monday or next month' but I find that this week will be very ineffective for me. So this is my plan. My gparents are still in town until Saturday and I have a big test on Weds as well as some appts to go to so until this week is over I will 'try' very hard to work out once a day and eat more consciously. After Saturday, Monday March 26th, the new diet and work out schedule will be on! Smoothie meal replacements, healthier foods, and working out for an hour will be the goal for week one, March 26th - March 31st.
